Dock & boat lift services in Punta Gorda

Punta Gorda docks, built for big water

Charlotte Harbor canal homes with serious boats need serious pilings. That is us. New docks, lifts, pilings and re-decks, driven from the barge and sized to the water you actually run in.

Seawalled canals with a harbor at the end

Punta Gorda sits on the south shore of Charlotte Harbor, right where the Peace River comes in. The town is built around seawalled canal neighborhoods, Punta Gorda Isles being the famous one, and the whole appeal is how quickly you get from your own seawall out to open water.

That quick access cuts both ways. The canal out front is calm, but the water it feeds is genuinely big, and a boat that runs the harbor tends to be a real boat. So the dock behind a Punta Gorda house is not a decoration. It is a structure that has to hold a serious hull, in salt water, through storm season, without complaint.

Which is why we start below the waterline. Pilings driven straight and deep from the barge, salt-rated hardware, and a lift sized to what your boat actually weighs wet. Everything you see above the water is only as good as the part you cannot.

What harbor water does to a dock

01

Fetch is the difference

Charlotte Harbor is big water, and wind gets a long clean run at it. That fetch builds chop the canals never see on their own, and it works on everything holding your dock up. Piling depth and straightness stop being details out here.

02

Calm canal, serious mouth

Most homes here sit behind a concrete seawall on a canal with fast harbor access, which is exactly where docks and lifts mount. Protected water most of the time, then wind, tide and wake energy pushing back in from the harbor when the weather turns.

03

Size the lift to the boat

Serious boats deserve honest math. Wet weight decides: hull, motors, full fuel, water and gear, plus margin. We size from that number rather than the brochure one, and the lift gets its own dedicated pilings.

“Alex, and crew were able to get the job done quickly (when other contractors were months out). ... My dock is now finished and I could not be happier! I would highly recommend Alex for your dock building needs.”
