New Dock Construction · Punta Gorda

Calm canal, big water beyond

Punta Gorda canals are calm out front and open onto Charlotte Harbor at the end of the run. We lay the dock out around that reality: your seawall, your boat, and pilings driven from the barge to take what big water sends back in.

On Punta Gorda water

Straight seawall, serious water

Nearly every buildable foot of waterfront here is concrete seawall on a canal, and Punta Gorda Isles wrote the pattern the rest of town follows. For a new build that is a gift. The line is already straight and the edge is already set, so the design conversation skips how you get down to the water and goes straight to what belongs in front of it: walkway, platform, tie-up, lift well.

What the layout has to answer to is where that canal goes. Charlotte Harbor is open water at the end of the street, with the Peace River coming in at the top of it, and a boat kept for running that kind of water is usually a real boat. So the plan leaves honest room for the hull, puts the lift well in from day one instead of cutting it into a finished deck later, and keeps the walkway wide enough that you are not carrying the cooler around the bow every trip.

Then there is what the harbor sends back down the canal. Open harbor water gives wind all the room it needs, and the chop that comes of it does not politely stop at the canal mouth on the way in. That is why the pilings go in straight and deep from the barge, why the hardware is specified for salt, and why the frame gets sized before anybody starts arguing about board color. The barge comes up by water from Cape Coral, which puts the heavy end of the job on the water side of your seawall where it belongs.

What is included

Every job covers

01

Layout and design on your seawall

We plan the dock around your boat, your canal and how you will use it, walkway, platform, lift well and all, before anything is ordered.

02

Pilings driven from the water

The barge sets every piling straight and deep from the canal side. No equipment through your yard, no torn-up lawn.

03

Composite or marine-grade decking

Composite for zero staining and color that survives the sun, or pressure-treated marine pine as the budget workhorse. We quote both when it is a close call.

04

Salt-rated hardware

Fasteners and connectors specified for salt water, with hidden-fastener patterns available where you want a clean deck face.

05

Permit guidance

We scope the build around Lee County and City of Cape Coral dock rules and walk you through the permit steps before a single piling moves.

06

Owner walkthrough at splash

The build ends with the owner on your dock, boat in the water, going over every board and bolt with you.

“I'm a pretty particular person when it comes to Detail and Alex and his crew gave very great attention to detail. The best I've seen. Love my Dock and couldn't be happier with the results.”

Punta Gorda questions

Isles canal today, harbor by noon

What comes out of the first visit is a layout you can picture: where the walkway runs, where the boat ties, where the lift belongs. It costs nothing and it commits you to nothing. The harbor is the easy part after that.
