Piling Installation

The Part of Your Dock That Decides Everything Else

You can put the finest decking and hardware in Southwest Florida on top of bad pilings and still end up with a dock that leans, sags, or fails in a storm. Pilings carry the entire load, and in our saltwater environment they face current, tidal swing, storm surge, and marine borers that eat wood from the inside out. Getting them right is not negotiable.

CC Docks & Lifts installs and replaces pilings across Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Englewood, and the rest of Lee and Charlotte Counties. We drive every piling on our own barge, with our own crew. Owner Alex oversees the work directly, so depth, placement, and quality stay under our control from start to finish.

What We Install

Pilings for New Docks, Replacements, and Structural Support

Pilings for new docks, replacements for failing ones, and the structural work that depends on them.

Pressure-Treated Wood Pilings

The traditional, cost-effective choice for most docks. Treated for marine use and driven to the depth your soil requires. Pair them with piling wraps to protect against marine borers and extend their life.

Composite Pilings

A longer-life option that resists rot and borer damage without wrapping. Higher up front, lower maintenance over time. We help you weigh it against wood for your specific situation.

New Dock Pilings

Full piling layouts for new dock builds, planned for your dock size, water depth, and exposure. Open-water and riverfront lots get deeper sets and heavier specs than interior canals.

Piling Replacement

Cracked, leaning, hollowed, or borer-damaged pilings pulled and replaced without necessarily tearing out the whole dock. A targeted fix can restore structural integrity.

Boat Lift and Structural Pilings

Heavier pilings sized to carry boat lift loads. We coordinate piling and lift specs together so the structure handles the weight correctly. See our Boat Lift Services.

Seawall and Shoreline Pilings

Pilings that support shoreline and structural applications beyond the dock deck itself, driven to spec on our barge.

Why Homeowners Choose Us

Why Southwest Florida Homeowners Choose CC Docks & Lifts

01

Our Own Barge, No Subcontracted Piling Work

This is the difference that matters most for piling work. We own the barge and run our own crew, which helps us control the schedule, depth, and quality of the work.

02

Set to the Right Depth for Your Soil

There is no universal piling depth. It depends on your seabed, your water, and your exposure. We assess your lot and drive to the depth that will actually hold.

03

Owner Alex on Every Job

The owner is on the water for the work. Direct accountability for the most important structural element of your dock.

04

Built Against Marine Borers

Marine borers are a leading cause of wood piling failure in our waters. We spec materials and protection with that threat in mind, and we can wrap new wood pilings to extend their life.

FAQ

Piling Installation FAQ

How much do dock pilings cost in Southwest Florida?

Piling cost depends on the number of pilings, the material, the depth required for your soil, and water access for the barge. Because those factors vary lot to lot, the accurate number comes from an on-site look. Request a free quote.

Why do dock pilings fail in Florida?

The single biggest cause is marine borers. Despite the name, shipworms are not worms. They are marine boring bivalves that tunnel through submerged wood, weakening pilings from the inside out. Add tidal current, storm surge, and years of saltwater exposure, and unprotected wood pilings have a limited life.

How deep do pilings need to be driven?

There is no one answer. Depth depends on seabed composition, water depth, and how exposed your lot is to open water and current. We assess your specific waterfront and drive to a depth that will hold under load and storm conditions.

Wood or composite pilings, which is better?

Wood pilings cost less up front and perform well when treated and wrapped. Composite pilings cost more but resist rot and borer damage without wrapping and tend to last longer. The right choice depends on your budget and how long you plan to keep the property.

Do you replace pilings without removing the whole dock?

In many cases, yes. If the dock structure is otherwise sound, individual failing pilings can often be pulled and replaced without a full teardown. We will tell you honestly whether targeted replacement or a larger rebuild is the better value. See our Dock Services.

Do I need a permit for piling work?

Piling-supported structures can fall under Florida's Environmental Resource Permit framework, with thresholds for exemptions, general permits, and individual permits depending on size and waterway. Local authorization through your county may also apply. We confirm what your project needs before work begins.

What areas do you serve for piling installation?

We drive pilings across Lee and Charlotte Counties, including Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Captiva, Bokeelia, St. James City, Englewood, Punta Gorda, and Port Charlotte.
