Punta Gorda's Trusted Dock and Boat Lift Team
Punta Gorda's waterfront is unlike any other in Southwest Florida. Charlotte Harbor is Florida's second largest open water estuary at roughly 270 square miles, and the 17th largest estuary in the United States, fed by the Peace and Myakka Rivers.
The harbor's open water exposure, the brackish flow of the Peace River, and the canal network of Punta Gorda Isles each put different demands on a dock and lift, and each location has its own permitting, soil, and storm-exposure profile.
CC Docks & Lifts builds, repairs, and inspects waterfront infrastructure across Punta Gorda for the homeowners who live on those waters every day, from the historic downtown district to PGI canal lots, Burnt Store, and the Charlotte Harbor shoreline.
Owner Alex personally oversees every project. No project managers. No subcontracted piling work. Direct accountability from the first quote to the final walkthrough.

We use our own company barge for all piling work in Punta Gorda, so timeline, depth, and quality stay under our control. Piling wraps run $80 to $120 per wrap, materials included, and protect against marine borers, the leading cause of piling failure in the region.

Charlotte Harbor and Peace River Specialists
Open water exposure on Charlotte Harbor and the brackish current of the Peace River are different from Cape Coral's interior canals. Pilings need to be set deeper, hardware needs heavier corrosion protection, and decking has to handle relentless sun. We build for what your specific lot actually faces.
Owner Alex on Every Job
Every project is personally overseen by owner Alex. When you call CC Docks & Lifts, you are talking to the person who shows up, manages the work, and stands behind every board and bolt. No project managers. No handoffs.
Our Own Barge, No Subcontracted Piling Work
Most dock companies subcontract piling work to a third party. We do not. We control the timeline, the quality, and the depth of every piling we drive, start to finish, on our own equipment.
More on how this affects your projectBuilt for Charlotte County Conditions
Punta Gorda has been on the front edge of every major Southwest Florida storm, from Hurricane Charley in 2004 to Hurricane Ian in 2022. We build to handle salt water, intense UV, and a real hurricane season, not a generic national playbook. Composite decking, marine grade hardware, and pilings rated for storm load.

Punta Gorda Dock and Boat Lift FAQ
How much does a new dock cost in Punta Gorda?
A basic pressure treated dock on a standard PGI canal lot typically starts in the $8,000 to $15,000 range. Larger docks with composite decking, multiple boat slips, or pilings on Peace River or Charlotte Harbor frontage can range from $20,000 to $60,000 or more. Open water exposure usually means deeper pilings and heavier hardware than an interior canal build.
See our Dock Services page for a deeper breakdown of pricing factors, or call (239) 834-0095 for a free on-site quote.
Do I need a permit to build or repair a dock in Punta Gorda?
Yes. Dock construction in Punta Gorda is permitted through the City of Punta Gorda Building Department or Charlotte County Building Construction Services, depending on jurisdiction. Most waterfront work also requires submerged-lands authorization from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Like for like repair work often qualifies for simpler permits. We walk you through what your specific Punta Gorda or PGI project requires before any work begins.
How does Charlotte Harbor exposure affect dock and lift design?
Significantly. Open Charlotte Harbor frontage sees more wave action, deeper water, and stronger storm surge than an interior PGI canal. We spec longer pilings, heavier-gauge hardware, and reinforced framing for harbor-front lots, and we recommend lift configurations rated for wind exposure.
An interior canal build does not translate one-to-one to a harbor-front build. See our Dock Services for the full scope of what changes.
Can you handle hurricane damage repairs in Punta Gorda?
Yes. Punta Gorda is a city defined by hurricane history. NOAA's National Hurricane Center documents that Hurricane Charley made landfall as a Category 4 storm with peak winds of 150 mph, with the eye passing directly over Punta Gorda on August 13, 2004. Hurricane Ian followed in September 2022, again impacting Charlotte County waterfronts.
Owner Alex has personally managed dozens of storm damage rebuilds across Charlotte County. We assess damage honestly, rebuild to current Florida coastal standards, and prioritize urgency for homeowners with structural failures.
Schedule a free post-storm inspectionDo you service boat lifts installed by another company in Punta Gorda?
Yes. We service boat lifts of all makes and models throughout Punta Gorda, including Golden, Neptune, Dolphin, IMM, Quality Aluminum, Boat Lift US, Hi-Tide, and others. Whether your lift is running slow, will not hold level, or has not been serviced in years, we diagnose it correctly and quote the work plainly.
See our Boat Lift Services page for the full scope.
How long should a Punta Gorda dock last?
A properly built composite dock with marine grade hardware, set on correctly sized pilings, regularly inspected, and protected with piling wraps can last 25 to 40 years in Punta Gorda conditions. Pressure treated docks have a shorter useful life, generally 15 to 25 years before significant rebuild work is needed. Charlotte Harbor exposure shortens that window for harbor-front lots compared to interior PGI canals.
Our free inspection gives you a realistic view of where your dock is in its life cycle.
