Know What You Are Dealing With, Before You Commit
A lot of dock and lift decisions get made on guesswork. A homeowner sees a few rotted boards and assumes the whole dock is shot, or sees a slow lift and fears the worst. Just as often, a real structural problem hides under a dock that looks fine on the surface.
That is what our free on-site inspection is for. CC Docks & Lifts inspects docks and boat lifts across Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Englewood, and the rest of Lee and Charlotte Counties at no cost.
Owner Alex does the walkthrough himself, tells you plainly what is sound and what is not, and gives you a written assessment you can act on. Whether you move forward with us or not, you walk away knowing where your waterfront stands.
What the Inspection Covers
A typical inspection takes 30 to 45 minutes and looks at the parts that determine whether your structure is safe and how long it will last.
Pilings and Foundation
We check your pilings for cracks, lean, rot, and signs of marine borer damage, the foundation that everything else depends on. See our Piling Installation and Piling Wraps.
Framing and Structure
The parts under the deck that carry the load. We look for sagging, failed joints, and compromised framing that a surface glance would miss. See our Dock Repair and Re-Decking.
Decking and Surface
Boards, fasteners, and surface condition assessed for wear, rot, and safety, so you know whether you are looking at a re-deck or a larger rebuild.
Boat Lift Mechanics
For waterfronts with a lift, we check cables, pulleys, motor, cradle, and bunks for wear and safety. See our Boat Lift Repair and Service.
Hardware and Corrosion
Bolts, brackets, cleats, and hardware checked for the saltwater corrosion that quietly weakens a structure over time.
Written Assessment and Honest Quote
You receive a clear summary of what we found and a plain quote for any recommended work. No pressure, no inflated scope. If it does not need fixing, we tell you that too.

Why Our Free Inspection Is Worth Your Time
Owner Alex Does the Walkthrough
The person inspecting your dock is the owner who builds and repairs them, not a commissioned salesperson. You get an expert read and a straight answer.
A Written Assessment You Can Keep
You leave the visit with a written summary of condition and recommendations, useful whether you hire us, get a second opinion, or just want to plan ahead.
No Sales Pressure
We are not there to talk you into the biggest job. If a repair will do, we say so. If your dock is in good shape, we tell you that and move on.
We Build and Repair Everything We Inspect
Because we do the actual dock and lift work, our inspection connects directly to real solutions and real pricing, not a vague referral. Explore our Dock Services and Boat Lift Services.

Free Inspections FAQ
Is the inspection really free?
Yes. The on-site inspection and the written assessment and quote that come with it are free, with no obligation to hire us. We offer them across Lee and Charlotte Counties based on availability.
What happens during the inspection?
Owner Alex comes to your waterfront and spends roughly 30 to 45 minutes checking your pilings, framing, decking, hardware, and, if you have one, your boat lift mechanics. You get a clear picture of what is sound, what needs attention, and what it would cost to address.
Do I have to be home for the inspection?
It helps, because it lets us walk you through what we find and answer questions on the spot, but it is not always required if we have safe access to the structure. We confirm the details when you book.
Will I get the findings in writing?
Yes. You receive a written assessment of condition and a plain quote for any recommended work, which is yours to keep whether or not you move forward with us.
Do you inspect docks and lifts you did not build?
Absolutely. Most of the inspections we do are on docks and lifts other companies built or that came with the home. We assess what is there, regardless of who installed it.
Should I get an inspection after a hurricane?
Yes, especially after a major storm. Hurricane Ian made landfall in Lee County on September 28, 2022 as a Category 4 storm with 150 mph sustained winds, per the NOAA National Hurricane Center, and storm damage is not always visible from the surface. An inspection catches structural problems before they become failures. See our Dock Repair and Re-Decking.
What areas do you serve for free inspections?
We inspect across Lee and Charlotte Counties, including Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Captiva, Bokeelia, St. James City, Englewood, Punta Gorda, and Port Charlotte.
